Instructions

Pumpkin Spiced Banana Bread
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  2. Place all of the dry ingredients into a bowl and mix well.
  3. Cream the eggs, sugars, sour cream, pumpkin puree, butter, and vanilla bean paste together until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes.
  4. Transfer the mixture into the bowl with the dry ingredients and mix everything together until thoroughly combined. Set aside.
Chocolate Swirl
  1. Melt the chocolate chips in the microwave at 30-second intervals until melted.
  2. Add in the cacao powder and mix together well. It will thicken and should look smooth. Set aside.
Assembly
  1. Grab a 5x9-inch or a 1-pound-sized bread pan and grease it with butter if it doesn't have a non-stick coating.
  2. Place half of the pumpkin banana bread batter into the bottom of the loaf pan, followed by all of the chocolate swirl.
  3. Place the remaining half of the batter directly on top and swirl the chocolate into the batter using a long toothpick, knife, or a narrow offset spatula.
  4. Bake the chocolate swirl pumpkin spiced banana bread in the oven for 1 hour.
  5. Once baked, keep the banana bread in the pan for around 30 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely. This will ensure it doesn't fall apart if taken out while still too warm.
